Pronounced hoo-gah, hygge is the Scandinavian lifestyle that emphasizes coziness and comfort. In this design, customers are led on a journey of coziness through an easy-to-navigate e-commerce site.

The Design
With a strong focus on texture and a limited color palette that emphasized cold weather and the feeling of warmth lighting a candle can bring, this site focused on using background imagery to tell a story and guide the user through the products to create an exceptional e-commerce experience.
The mood board defined the feelings that surround the mentality of Hygge and set the stage for the mix of illustration and collage.

Illustrations created in Procreate became the main building block of this brand’s identity. Overlaid with a texture and paired with collaged visuals, these folk art style images created the coziness and wonder for the site.
